All Aboard!
Welcome to Ballinrobe Musical Society’s brand new website, launched in September 2009.
The site is still a work in progress so if you have any items you’d like to see included just let us know.
We are based in Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo, in the west of Ireland, but every year we take ourselves off – metaphorically speaking – an incredible journey.
We’ve been to Bangkok, New York, Oklahoma, Merano, and countless places besides. Our vehicle is the medium of musical theatre.
As we speak, we’re preparing for our next journey: and it actually brings us home. The Pirate Queen, which we will stage in February 2010, tells the story of Granuaile, the famous pirate queen of the west coast of Ireland who defended Ireland’s traditions and territories in her own inimitable style.
This is the world amateur premiere of the show. From Broadway to Ballinrobe! Perhaps you will join with us on part of this journey home. For the first time ever, we will have a ten-night run in February 2010, in response to the demand we are already experiencing.
Meanwhile, we hope you enjoy your own journey through our new website, and we hope to meet you soon again.
